Operatic Surprise in the Market
I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and have many a good memory of trips into the city, including the Reading Terminal Market. Apparently, the Opera Company of Philadelphia paid a surprise visit to the Market this past April.
I am looking forward to the new Met season with the first Live HD performance in October of Wagner's Das Rheingold. This is also James Levine's 40th anniversary as music director at the Met, so I expect it will be a stunning season of performances.

Summer Photos
Below are a series of photos taken over the past couple of weeks. They begin with our annual family trip to the Civil War Renactment. The following week, we had the privilege of hosting Fr. Katzaroff for dinner during his North Country "vacation" from his parish in El Paso, Texas. Last Friday, we decided to break out of the usual summer routine and head to the Adirondack Visitor Interpretive Center, that is, after a stop at Donnelly's outside of Saranac Lake for the best soft-serve in the world. At the VIC, we hiked, observed butterflies and other wildlife, and enjoyed all of the varieties of local mushrooms as we traversed through the forest. After the hike, we swung into the big Saranac Lake tourist stop "The Tail o' the Pup" for some supper where Joshua was awarded a t-shirt for the best smile of the day.
The good photos below were taken by Andrew. The not-so-good ones, by me of course.
